Nice Sky -- Big Dipper, 2 Shooting Stars, and a Comet
Last night was a success! I used my Z6 (mirrorless) which is better with long exposure and less noise, and had a great time being entertained by the night sky. The Milky Way was amazing so more photos are coming of the photo-shoot. I'll try not to be too repetitive, but it's hard not to be excited at seeing these various celestial happenings. Thanks for your kind comments! Very much appreciated.
Awesome capture. Just wish I could find a spot dark enough to get some good shots. All of mine have too much ambient light to really show up that much.
Great shot of the night sky with so many elements. We haven't been able to see the comet with all the ambient light so I'm glad to be able to see it in your pics. By the time I get to some dark skies next month, the comet will be gone.
Fabulous shot, interested to see you've used your Z6, I must give it a go sometime (if the clouds ever go away!) In the meantime don't worry about being repetitive, I'm enjoying your night sky shots.
Love the shooting stars drawing the eye right to Neowise. I’m hoping for another shooting tonight. It was perfect here last night but I was exhausted and slept 10 hours without hardly turning over so I missed that opportunity
@jgpittenger Hehe -- I know what you mean. I actually was happy it rained last night as it meant I could go to sleep earlier. I'm totally exhausted from staying up late and then getting up at normal times, but I can't stop going out on a nice night -- it's such an amazing experience. But I'm not sure I can get much of a different shot now the I've used both cameras over the two nights. My thought next was to try using the Tampon 15-600 and see if I can get the comet in clear focus, using the Z6. I didn't have any luck with using it on the 610 even at higher ISO. Have fun on your next venture out there!
@rjb71 Thanks! I used the 14-24mm f2.8 F-mount with the Z-mount adaptor. I bought the 14-24 Z-mount f4.5 to use for travel and thought I'd give that one a try the next clear night to compare.
Wow, impressive. fav.
