Walking home from having to replace my watch which ended up with its crystal smashed somehow...I decided to cut through Millennium Park. So very empty! The Bean is cordoned off and can be viewed from behind a fence. I've never ever seen it before without at least some people and generally it is surrounded by crowds. Such an eerie sight. It was calm and quiet in the city.
Wow how strange to see it with no people around. Covid at least has one bonus. I don't suppose you will see this scene again once the world opens up again. fav
It is odd to see this dramatic piece without people around it. A beautiful shape to this shot. Those rich colours and brightness in the reflection really make it.
I adore this work, it is sad to see it being fenced off as I believe it was designed for interaction. You've captured the isolation perfectly. Stunning reflection.
These days empty spaces do give us a quite a different pov on the world. This shot with the reflection of Fall trees and no people to enjoy the view sums it up.
One of my favourite places in Chicago and I have so many photos and every one has crowds of people interacting with the gorgeous bean. Sad to see it fenced off . A sign of the times I suppose! Stay safe Taffy out on your walks!
@bob65 I think it's two reasons. First, Covid as a big thing is people touching the Bean and doing selfies of their reflections. Second, potential vandalism, so the fencing is a distance away. However, the latter is not the main reason as the fencing would be really easy to just knock down.
So good to see this amazing bean....I think it’s just wonderful....simple conception but it really works. No one there which is amazing in itself, cordoned off gave you the cleanest capture! Fave.
What a unique shot you got of the Bean without crowds of other people around. I like the symmetry in your photo and the beautifully colored fall leaves reflected in the Bean. A very special shot! Fav
