This collage combines photographs from a safari I did in 2019, pre-Covid. Junko @jyokota and I are using Covid stay-at-home time to work through a Photoshop course together via Zoom. We've gotten to 'layers' now so while this isn't the greatest image, it reflects learning to control layers, free transformations, image sizing, and figuring out how to use textures to cover up a blank background. I ran out of time (this took a ridiculous amount of time to do given my low skill level) and I don't love the background, and think it lacks any sense of creativity. But they are all visible, aligned, in the order I intended, and they successfully combined 7 layers!
Here's Junko's from today: https://365project.org/jyokota/365/2020-12-14
@jyokota Today was fun! I gave up as you can see and didn't go back to change the background or do anything different with adding or moving the images. Creativity all used up just to control the tools and layers! So much more fun learning with a friend!
I love that you’re taking the class together and that you’re using this site to share your learning rather than only posting perfection! I’m doing the same (but without a class for now). Nice effort creating this collage!
A wonderful collage of these beautiful shots. Interesting to read about the course you are taking, fabulous that you are doing it with Junko. I just posted on the discuss page, as I am looking for a course. Could you please tell me which one you are taking?
YAY! We did it -- our first projects through PS. I like how you even managed a background layer in addition to a complex layout. The lions are showing a variety of behaviors.
What a great result. Good that you and Junko are keeping busy during lockdown and Covid and no better way than through Zoom to learn about Photoshop together.
Each photo tells a story and they work so well together.
Wow, what a great idea. I so need to get to grips with Photoshop. I just never seem to have time to do anything other than simple edits - or at least I don't dedicate myself enough to the daunting task. I'd love to be a skilled photoshopper though! Maybe one day!
This is a lovely collage and I empathize with you. I've been doing a Photoshop class off and on. When I go back to try to do it, following my notes and the videos, it is HARD! I'm getting the hang of some of it but it's not sticking in my brain to well.
how delightful to be learning along with junko @jyokota - great posts by both of you today! (or recently, i should say - i'm a bit behind with commenting!) i seem to get into ps and bumble about still - bought a couple of new creative live courses in the sale so must make some space in my day to follow them. lovely to see your progress :)
