I just received my new Nikon 24-200 walkabout lens for my Nikon Z6. It's lightweight, convenient, so a lot going for it, but I did wonder if I'd be happy with the sharpness/clarity of the images. It's not as fine as a prime or my Tamron 150-600, but it's SO convenient to use that I think it will be worth the tradeoff. It needs more testing, but for the weight, I'm sure I'll end up keeping it and using it frequently.
@ludwigsdiana I'll be interested to see how you like that one. I wish Tamron were making Z-mount lenses. I've been so happy with the one lens I do have. I found the 200 is not sufficient for birds and I suspect most animal shots. The 15-300 range would be a great one. I'll have to check out its weight / size and then just dream of it someday!
Looks great I've also been toying with this lens. I have a 70 300 which I can use via adaptor on the Z but was wondering about this lens for a walk about. Also hoping third party manufacturers start producing more Z lenses as well.
Interested in your new lens. My one and only lens on my Nikon is a Tamron 16-300 and I find it heavy to carry and use, though brilliantly versatile. Lightweight is sonding appealing to me and your images are great with it.
An excellent test shot -- classically 'you' capturing architectural depth. I'm sure the trade off will be worth it -- like I use my Sony for just that. Except with the Sony bridge camera it has such a minuscule sensor you can't crop at all. AT least when you put this lightweight lens on your Z you still have all the benefit of the camera itself. Good choice! Excellent result.
