Rocket Garden by taffy

Rocket Garden

We've probably all heard of rock gardens, but at the Kennedy Space Center, they have a Rocket Garden instead. All rockets are retired from service. They are quite huge as you can see from the tiny people at the base of the scene.
For Flash of Red, sort of high key but not quite--definitely an emphasis on shape.
It is amazing to think that two people sat on top of the rocket on the right. (Looks like a Gemini rocket configuration)

Awesome photo! Growing up in the 60s and 70s I'm still a fan of these rockets and early space exploration.

Like the b&w; adds to the 1960’s feel

@byrdlip I agree!! When we saw the small capsules and the gigantic rockets that they were trusting to thrust them into orbit, it was mind-blowing. And we saw a launch two days ago from our beach (so from a far distance) where the rocket went up, set off the satellite, and came down and landed back on its pad! Just unreal.

@taffy returning the rocket and landing still reminds me of the old scifi moves from the 50's, just can't believe it.
