At first glance the b&w makes it appear like smoke. Cool effect. What macro lens do you have?

@vankrey Thanks for the kind comment! My macro is the 105mm Nikon Nikkor VR AF-S ED Micro 1.8 (a great lens), but I was using my 85mm 1.4 for these shots (probably my favorite lens at the moment).

I though maybe it wasn't your macro for this shot. I would love a good macro and thought I'd ask someone whose photography I admire :)

@vankrey Oh -- thank you so much! Yes, if you use a Nikon, I'd definitely recommend the macro I have.

@tuesdaygirl Thanks! I was just playing around with the lines and just drained the color to see them better -- then realized I liked the look in b&w for a change of pace.
@kimshots I'm learning more by looking at others' b&w photos -- it does make line, contrast, and texture stand out more and I'd like to get better at it.
