Old Chicago by taffy

Old Chicago

Standing on Michigan Avenue, looking south. The first building is the Chicago Historical Society, but when I was growing up, this was the main library. I used to be able to take the train into the city, and get off underground at this stop. Walking upstairs to the city put us on this corner. Across the street today, instead of seeing train tracks and trains, you see the beautiful Millennium Park (trains etc. are under the park our of sight). Black and white to capture the feeling of something out of my childhood.
My main shot of the day is in my 365 album: http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-03-03

Gosh. This is a timeless shot. If you had said that it was taken in the 1920s I wouldn't have been able to doubt you (apart from the traffic lights - I suppose that they are a bit of a give away!)

@fueast Thanks -- I do love Chicago's architecture because it is so varied even in a relatively small area.
