My get-pushed this week from Harry Benson ( @hjbenson) was to create a diptych of two different objects that support each other in some way but are not physically close. I hope this isn't stretching it but it occurred to me as I photographed in Joddy's studio (see http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-06-07 ) that music is something that requires this kind of two-way support. A musician is supported by his or her instrument of choice, while an instrument is essentially raw material until its in the hands of the musician. They aren't close in the sense of connected, but are close in the sense of need. Harry, I hope this isn't stretching your challenge too far from what you had in mind!
@hjbenson Thank you so much, Harry, for both the challenge and the fav! I think I spent more time thinking about this challenge than any of my previous ones. It was so interesting as it wasn't about learning a technique but thinking about relationships. I was very focused on architectural elements for most of the week, then tried to do something with 'earth, wind, fire' but it was a bust. So I was really excited when the music connection came to me -- I'm really so pleased you liked it and wanted you to know how much fun I had with your challenge (though not thinking it was fun about Thursday!). Thank you!
This is so effective, Taffy. Each photo is wonderful on its own yet they come together to complement one another. Love the expression you have captured on Joddy's face. And the pov on the guitar is perfection.
