This is a relatively rare and big event -- the opening of a new trail on Beaver Island. This one goes through newly donated land up a ridge with a unique view of Barney's Lake. We were walking between rainstorms, high winds under control since we were so far inland and relatively protected, and the colors here were at their peak. This was taken during a little break when blue sky peeked through and we had a little sunlight. Today's word is change -- that's what fall is all about!

@eyesmile heehee -- could be 'beautiful peak' as in 'top of the ridge' OR beautiful 'peek' as in 'sneaking a look' so you're safe either way!! Thanks for the view and comment, too!
Breathtaking view framed by those glorious trees!! I had to wait until I could look at this large on my PC - my Kindle is just not good enough for views like this!! Lovely to be back on Beaver Island with you!! Fav!!
