I've always wished I had the eye-hand coordination to paint. This is a different take on the lily featured in my main album - http://365project.org/taffy/365/2014-01-15. There, I focused only on the two buds at the top of the image. Here, I had the whole branch with the lilies that were fading as well as the new buds. Sort of selective color of the older ones, but am not sure how I did that. I was using Topaz and when I saw this, it was what I wanted, but I never figured out how that bit of color came through. If I could water color, this is something I'd like to be able to create.
That's remarkable... if I could find some "free time" I'd love to apply myself to learning new techniques... there's SO MUCH I don't know about all the possibilities!
@Weezilou I recommend doing a free trial of some processing plug-ins, or at the very least, muck around around picmonkey which we get for free if we are Ace members. It's pretty intuitive--I'm not very techy so if I can use there, anyone could!
Interesting two-tone effect. What strikes me in this one is that supressing the color decreased the impression that the lilies are flowers at all. They could be leaves the way they are draped.
Taffy, I have faved this so I can come back another day and shamelessly try to emulate your style. This is perfection, I adore it. I would give this wall space in my house.
@seanoneill Thanks Sean! That really is a sweet response to this. Imitation == the best form of flattery, right? And I can't wait to see what you do with it. Tag me, when you create something along these lines, okay?
This is so lovely Taffy, I like the high key approach and selective colour. I really wish that I could paint too! I prefer this image to the one in your main album.
