My mom, who is in her 90s, still sends care packages to her 'kids' (my two brothers and me) as well as her grandkids. I'm totally addicted to chocolate chip cookies and it's always a treat when my mom sends me some. They do not last long. For this photo shoot, I'm embarrassed to say it started with about 9 cookies and the lego camera guy (idea was lego guy photographing mountain of cookies). Massive fail, and I ate the evidence. Tonight, when we got back from dinner, I realized I'd somehow missed a cookie -- yay!! So, I gave it another shot, but this time thought I'd keep it simple. There is nothing like a mom's cookies, no matter how old we get!
For macro-March (and for an excuse to eat all the cookies...mmmm...wonder why my stomach aches?).

Wonderful picture and looks absolutely delicious. Reminds me of growing up, and when delivering groceries in a small town getting homemade chocolate chip cookies.
How lovely that your mom still does this. Thanks for sharing the story, I see you have been captivated by the Lego idea. I was too, but also failed massively!
Lol LOL love the idea of "take a shot... not quite right...*pick up a cookie and eat it*... try again....take a shot.. not quite right..." and so on until one last cookie moral to the story is. Don't use your favourite cookie for a still life shoot... ;)
Milk and cookies! Yum! It's so great that your mom still bakes them for you! My son grew up eating a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie a day because I had a cookie bakery called Grandma's for 15 years. Seeing this delicious looking cookie made me smile at the thought of the aroma of those cookies hot out of the oven! Fav!
Thank you for sharing your story...even though I didn't get to taste the cookies! What a warm and thoughtful mother you have...she obviously adores you all! I'm so glad you went with "simplicity" in the end... This says everything most of us love about a home-baked chocolate chip cookie!
lucky you! your mom must be something special. I'lll be doing the same for my kids when they are grown and gone. i have seven different chocolate chip recipes . . . all delicious. they'll probably get more cookies than they'll ever want...
Mums will be mums - how lovely to still receive packages from her and I bet she enjoys it every bit as much as you do (if not more :-)) A lovely shot, and I really like the composition. I agree, that simple is often best!
