The national library of Chile (Biblioteca Nactional de Chile) was a very impressive building (one of the top sights listed in guidebooks). Junko and I left 'the guys' sitting in the main lobby as we poked around photographing various rooms. This was, by far, the most impressive (and can be seen in Junko's album in its full, dark, rich color tones) - @jyokota 's album - http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2014-12-22 . I was standing in an almost identical spot for this one, processed using Silver Efex.

This is beautifully processed! I love how the B&W makes me feel like I'm seeing a historic document depicting the same room we saw, but in a time period more like when my grandfather might have been there . .. in keeping with the history of the place, too! Just linked it to my project. Nice pairing, I think!
What an opulently magnificent structure Taffy. And to think this is a library, not a palace or parliament or the like. Absolutely wonderful detail in this shot, I've looked at it for ages and still love it.
Impressive site! Really nice in b&w, shows off the detail in the structure. Just so much to see in this shot. Hope you are all having nice Christmas and enjoyed the trip!
@joansmor Thanks for the observation Joan. I had the 'feeling of knowing' that this was similar to something and you've hit the nail on the head! It also might mean I'm in a photography rut -- seeking the same architectural elements wherever I go!
You know don't take this as a criticism but after your comment above I went looking for that photo because I couldn't remember if it was color or bw and from the stamps I saw a few others that have this feel including the library in Chicago. But is it a rut or is architecture like literature which they say is bases on something like 7 basic story lines and architecture repeats things that work and give it their own twist. I see this enclosed leading line in your photos but each one is presented slightly differently. I remember them because I love leading lines.
