Inspired by Gena Pegg's image of an iris at http://365project.org/eyesmile/365/2015-04-10 . I liked the details in her processing. Coincidentally, I'd gotten a tutorial advertising portraits, with a series of steps for creating sort of dark and detailed ones. I tried out the steps on this iris and liked the way it turned out, as well as learned more about some of the LR5 sliders in the process. The one on the left was the original, the right reflects the processing steps. Thanks Gena!
Love Irises, I like the first edit... Sometimes there is no need for all the detail. The first one looks light and happy, the second one has more depth. I struggle sometimes over these decisions.
Both are pretty and bring out a different feeling. It's always fun to play with a picture and learn about the processing abilities you have. This was a great subject for that.
No faves?! I hugely love iris, and I love what the processing brought out! Excellent...and I'll have to see what Gena did with hers! I photographed a beautiful white iris this past weekend...might see what I can do with that!
yep! I sat down to capture it from a low vantage point, so you'd better believe I took as many photos as possible before asking for help to get back up!
Taffy!! This is beautiful..sorry I missed it earlier and thanks for the reference. They are both lovely, but I can sure see the difference. Well done and such a lovely Iris!!
They are both beautiful, Taffy....one is softer, and the other one has more vibrance and contrast....I guess it all depends on the emotion you want to convey, but it is good to know how to use all those tools at our disposal....
