The one that got away . . .

This is a White-Breasted Nuthatch. The LOVE the feeder and you can see 2 or 3 others waiting in the trees. They also like to peck on our chimney so we've gotten this weird looking battery powered spider to put up there that is activated by sound and vibrations.
Lovely capture -- you caught him looking at the seed he dropped! Fave

@catwoman2 Thanks Mary! I finally figured out that I need to photograph these guys on action mode because they were just too fast on and off of the feeder, I was missing a lot of shots. Anyway, I had this shot when I was going back through. Fun! Thanks for the fav!

Love that you caught him with the nut dropping down.

Wonderful detail and Closeup. And such clarity, I always liked how the Nuthatch seem to want to feed upside down.....nice one!

So cool, Tara!!! Love the pretty green bokeh background too.

Great shot Tara! We have problems with woodpeckers pecking at our chimney. They like the sound and use it to mark their territory or for mating. Where did you get that "spider thing"? We'll have to find one for our home!

@httpgeffed @alwyn255 Thanks ladies!
@netkonnexion Thanks the nut was a nice surprise!
@tonyjsisti Yes they do Tony.
@olivetreeann I got it at the bird store. I'll let you know if it works. We hung it up tonight.

@tara11 Thanks Tara- I'd be interested to know. We don't have a bird store here, but I'm sure I can find it on-line.

@swilde Thanks Sue!
@gennywren Me too - the background is trees so the sun is always shining through them and giving me the nice bokeh.
@psychographer Thanks Lisa for the fav! I wish I could take credit for the timing, but I have it on continuous shot and just fire away. I found this after downloading.
