I captured a water drop with a viewable image in it. The sun came out for about 10 seconds and I ran out to my deck, sat on my table and took as many shots as I could. I used my 10x filter on my 70-300 lens - a little irony there I guess. I bought the filters without even looking at the size (duh!) but thankfully they fit this lens. It does make it more versatile though. So, I guess it all works out.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to view and comment. All of your encouragement keeps me going and your shots continue to inspire me daily. I'm behind and probably will be as we are getting ready for a fun trip to the sunny (please!!) state of California!
Now THAT is the bomb! Love it! It reminds me that it IS possible to set up shots such as this. We keep hoping to just find one, but you can create them. Some people even use glycerin I stead of water. Did you get nervous you would bump something and knock drop off? I do. Fav,
@espyetta You're right, I had to set up this shot. The sun came out, but it hadn't rained in a while so no raindrops. So, I got a medicine dropper and added some :) YES! I was so nervous, especially since I was sitting on the table and moving around to get a good shot. It was an accident that it stayed on the bottom of the petal. I'm excited though. Thanks for the fav!
@tara11 Ha! I did not really mean YOU set up this shot. Because you are a purist...you once told me you just left things as you found them, and took the shot. (That was when I was telling you I "landscaped" around little mushrooms so you could see the whole thing." ) and I keep forgetting I could set up a water drop shot. That takes talent too, anyway...that is why I just kept searching around the yard. But congrats on the wonderful shot you set up! It is great!
I use my macro filter on my 50mm but needed to get a ring to fit between as the lens diameters are different. This has worked really well. Lovely crisp reflection and super colour xx
