JackieR inspired me to try to make some ghost images. Being a retired engineer, I naturally started with some measurements and calculations. I found that it took me 0.9 seconds to walk 3 feet, so I started with a shutter speed of 1 second and set my camera to shutter priority. I was mostly invisible as I walked across the scene. I found that 1/2 second worked best.
Fun! I think it’s wonderful that you are experimenting with different settings and techniques. Thanks for the challenge you gave me. For yours, I’d like to give you a composition challenge — to experiment with forced perspective. I think you can find plenty of examples by doing a Google search of the term. I hope you will have some fun with it. Let me know if, for some reason, that will not work for you at all.
Thanks for asking. Well, if you try and find you are unable to set up a real forced perspective shot, then go ahead. But I think you should give it a try to do it with only the composition of the shot providing the illusion. Here's one article on how to do that https://digital-photography-school.com/forced-perspective/ There are others if you do a google search.
