My get-pushed partner challenged me to make an interior photograph this week. I intentionally took this picture in the late afternoon and included the window so that I could try combining several exposures. Because of the blue motif in the room, I also adjusted the color balance separately in the two images. It looks a little too artificial to me.
Is the shot out of the window a different photo then? It is terribly hard to get the exposure right so that a view out of a window is as clear as an indoor scene.
@casablanca They are from two exposures of the same scene. I had several exposures and tried HDR and photo merging. Neither of those worked very well. I tried a luminosity mask based on the window exposure, but the white trim on the window was too bright.
I meant for the photo to be a challenge. At least I succeeded with that objective.
@tdaug80 You certainly did! Well done for all your efforts. I am sure you will get there. Great shade of blue, by the way. Looks a fabulous room to rest in.
lovely room, and well done extending the challenge, i also thought to suggest a room with different light sources to add interest, (eg. if the lamp was lit, or a tungsten light turned on) if that appeals sometime
