My boy had his operation. When he awoke, he was feeling pretty seedy and the vomit bag was held close by. When he was using it, I had to wander off and leave it to the nurses. I dry-wretch at the sound of someone chucking!!!
It was kind of sweet to be able to watch him sleeping though. Is that weird? When they were babies, I could watch them sleeping for ages but as teenagers it seems a little stalkerish.......LOL......so I don't, unless they are heavily sedated as he was. It's a mummy thing!!!
As an ex nurse( happily retired) can I say these vomit bags are brilliant compared to the ancient and spillable kidney dishes. Hope your son makes a speedy recovery:)
@hermann Thanks Sally. I picked him up this morning and by this arvo he was so much better. Giving me cheek and playing the playstation. He has 10 days off work to drive himself and me crazy! Nurses seem to do so much paperwork these days and not so much nursing.......just my observation. The old guy in the ward next door was funny. Lit up a fag while in his bed! That had the nurses running pretty quick smart before he triggered the smoke alarms. He couldn't understand the problem with having a fag in hospital.......
Oh poor little man! Hope he gets well soon. I really like that you have only shot his hands - it really tells the story so well. I hurl just thinking about vomit - how did we ever manage to care for our babies!! LOL
