The wind was blowing and the branches (and flowers) were swaying and the bee was buzzing around like a .. a .. a .. well like a bee with a bum full of honey.
Tried auto focus and manual focus but nothing would stay still long enough for either.
In the end I put it on manual and just kept taking photos in the hope that the bee would swing into focus on one of them. Certainly not according to Hoyle. LOL
Tell the truth now - you were trying to shoot the flower and the bee flew into your frame, right? That's how it happens in my world. Don't you have continuous autofocus on the 80D? I think it's called AI Servo AF on the Canon. You owe me chicken wings if that helps.
@stray_shooter No. It's a problem with the lens. Slow as a wet week. Takes ages to get itself sorted out. I wasn't too sure if macro was my thing so I bought an early model Canon macro (fewer $$$) just to dip my toes in the water. Nothing wrong with the glass but the electronics are pretty poor. I'll persevere for a while and see how things go.
Despite the luck factor, it's a 'wow'! Really clear focus on its eyes. I had this happen - my best butterfly shot ever, but I was focused on a petal and the thing landed as I was getting ready to press the shutter. Most clear butterfly I've ever caught.
