The Lilleyvale Hills pop up out of nowhere about 150kms out of Boulia on the drive to Winton and are in stark contrast to the rest of the Channel Country.
Cawnpore Lookout provides an excellent view of the surrounding jump ups that go to make up the hills.
This is the view to the east towards Winton.
There is a real Indian theme going on here too. One of the localities around here is Lucknow
(Ya gotta laugh though. The Winton Shire Council describes the Boulia Winton drive as one of the most spectacular scenic drives in Queensland. I certainly wouldn't say that but if they don't push it, no one else will. Good on them. :-))
