Day 2 - Australian Light Horse, Capella

At the end of the avenue of trees is this metal statue commemorating the Australian Light Horse.

A piece of trivia for Oz 365ers. Did you know that the tradition of wearing an Emu feather by the Australian Light Horse originated in Capella during the Great Shearers Strike?
This brings back memories. We were so impressed with Capella and the Light Horse Memorial, in fact we were impressed with the military memorials in so many small towns in outback Australia. Such enormous pride shown in each community.
