Our next and last stop along the West MacDonnell Ranges was Ormiston Gorge which I think is easily the most beautiful feature in the Range.
When we were here 18 years ago, the water hole was almost dry and we were able to walk on the rocks up the creek bed well into the gorge where there were some fabulous rock formations. After the wet summer this year, the water hole was full and while that gave excellent landscape photos, it prevented us from going up the gorge.
I really liked the way this old Ghost Gum framed the gorge and the water hole in this shot.
