@mbrutus@ludwigsdiana In Oz, Eucalyptus trees are most commonly referred to as Gum Trees, the colloquial name given to them by early settlers because many species exude a gummy sap from any break in the bark. So, the Ghost Gum is actually Eucalyptus Parrerinja or Eucalyptus Papuana.
Except that it is no longer called that since about 20 or so years ago, all of the "bloodwoods" of the Eucalyptus genus were reclassified as Corymbia so the Ghost Gum is now Corymbia aparrerinja.
They are called Ghost Gums because of their white clean bark which takes on a ghostly appearance, especially at night.
