This is fairly typical of the tropical savannah country that the Carpentaria Hwy passes through although this is definitely one of the better sections of road.
BTW, the run from Daly Waters to the Tablelands Hwy and the turn south is 280kms and there is absolutely no sign of any human habitation along the way. Fantastic
Oh I love this shot. I love roads too. Whenever I see a road like this I think of my daughter's ex mother in law she always said 'Australia is really crowded' I did very well not to make a sarcastic comment in reply which was quite good for me. She lives in East Doncaster in Victoria and I think has only left the city once in her life when she flew to Darwin years ago. She has never seen roads like this I am sure.
