Another Day - Another Reserve by terryliv

Another Day - Another Reserve

Once again today, I was planning a night shot. Once again, it fell through. Once again, I had to revert to a reserve shot I had taken during the day.
Most of the snails we get around home are like this one and have a soft shell that is all broken. I don't know what their problem is and I don't care because I hate slugs and snails.
Wave bye bye to everyone snail.
Actually I can't look at snails the same way since I saw them in Minuscule.
Excellent close-up!

Sounds like you need a bit of cheering up, up there in Brisbane :)

Lovely close up detail. I think all of our snails have run away and now I want one to photograph. Fav

Awesome macro. I must say I am not a big fan either.

Ah, man, he's cute! Of course I'm not the one dealing with his potentially destructive ways. Really good picture of him though. The day I find a snail around here, there'll be some whoopin' and yollerin' 'cause I'll have a photo subject for the day. Got a laugh out of your commentary, I must say.

P.S. Yeah, let's say the pug's name was Rusty. That works for me.

Excellent close up. Snails don't last long here, the blue tongues eat them. Haven't seen a snail in our garden for years.

I wonder what disease they have got or are they just short on calcium. Very strange. Fav

Great shot!

I'm sure they've got a place but I haven't worked out what it is yet; until I do they don't last long in my garden. But it's a great shot, nevertheless and interesting about the shells. I haven't seen that before. Love the textures in your shot.

Wonderful shot - love the brown tones. I'm kind of one of those "live and let live" types but I understand their lack of appeal! For whatever reason snails seem a tad better than than slugs!

I don't think I've ever gotten close enough to a snail to get a picture like this - it's a great shot - but a rather strange looking critter!

How cool though. I have been reverting to alternative shots as well, but for other reasons called life.

@mccarth1 Actually Kerry, since he had been so nice posing for me, I let him go on his way. But if he ever crosses my path again . . . . . .

Ewwww I haven't seen a snail for years. When I was a kid we had them in our letterbox and they would leave slime over the mail :-/
