We went to the bird show (isn't that a surprise, me going to a bird show) which featured trained wild birds. I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to get some and relatively easy BIF shots. WRONG.
They fly so fast and usually fairly low down that all I ended up with was a heap of blurred shots of birds/bald heads/trees/people. And half the time I had no idea where the bird was coming from. This shot of an owl was certainly one of the better ones. Excellent show though.
Great capture!! Made me laugh - been there - read the book and got the video!! I have been to so many shows like this and come out with wonderful candid shots of the people instead of the birds!! Love the birds face - looks like a hawk of some kind to me as it doesn't have the round face of an owl. Mind you it's probably an Aussie Owl!! LOL!! Fav!
He looks a little surprised that you're taking his picture! Great capture, really, as I'm sure it's no easy feat even catching these winged wonders in the view finder.
Ha ha, great shot Terry, we went to a similar bird show at Healesville Sanctuary while we were in Melbourne recently and like you thought I would get some shots of birds in flight, not to be though, for exactly the same reasons you gave. Ended up just watching the fantastic show instead.
