Bush Stone Curlew by terryliv

Bush Stone Curlew

I have posted photos of the curlew on a couple of occasions previously but after coming across them at golf on Monday, I just had to post another shot. I think they are fascinating birds with the most eerie call, usually heard at night. To hear what they sound like try https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZWHUU41gsk
I first saw one in Roma St gardens in Brisbane. He froze and I was able to take some shots of him. Previously I had heard them but not seen them. I like the pattern on his wings.

Great shot Terry. My daughter in law has some in her garden in Townsville. When I first saw them I thought they were statues. Got quite a start when one moved.
