Land Mullett by terryliv

Land Mullett

According to Ms Know-it-all aka The Lizard Queen aka @Hermann daughter, this is a Land Mullet, Egernia major. This has been confirmed by Prof Google who reckons that it is the largest of the Skink family of lizards. This fellow was probably about 450mm long.
We came across him up at Springbrook National Park and as is my normal practice, I quickly took a couple of shots before trying to get a better POV. He was too smart for that and quickly disappeared into thick undergrowth before I could climb down the rocks to him. So this was the best of the two quickies.
@Hermann I finally got to it Sally LOL

Not seen one if these before. Almost looks like a fish with legs. I suppose it's the scales. Great detail Terry for a quick shot!

I know it's a lizard, but it much too snake-like for me. I think I would have run the other way!

Lovely capture of the slinky creature. Difficult to judge size but it would be close to 10 inches in the old money ??

Great capture. I like the rim of colour around the bottom of his eye.

Whoa - that's one big skink. Good idea, grabbing some quick shots before going for the unique POVs.
