Day 2 - Cable Beach Camel Train by terryliv

Day 2 - Cable Beach Camel Train

There are a number of operators that take tourists for a ride on in a camel train on Cable Beach in Broome. I don't like to be a killjoy but I fail to see what the attraction is in doing this but . . . . . .
See my intro for this pic in yesterday's posting at http://365project.org/terryliv/from-the-archiv/2015-01-08
Definitely best on black
But look what a fabulous photo it made!! I think it must be a lot of fun just to say you rode a camel... where IS your sense of fun Poppo?!

@bella_ss How about the fact that I have eaten camel. Now that was fun!!

Makes for a great photo but think if I ever get there I'd skip this. Give me a horse. As if I could ever get up on one at this stage in my life.

Wonderful shot Terry. The attraction is that you get an elevated view of how far you have to fall !!!

Sam
It's a really good photo regardless! FAV

Very cool image Poppo, but that sky is stunning:))

@terryliv hehe, good answer!

@joansmor Joan, the camel sits down on the ground, you climb on and then you nearly fall off as it gets up... I haven't been on one but I laughed pretty hard when my daughter did.

Fantastic capture fav

So think I'd just watch too. LOL Now that could be fun.

Kill joy or not it's still a lovely picture. Fav

Great capture.
January 9th, 2015
Definitely something I have never seen
January 9th, 2015
Looks like a caravan in the Sahara.
January 9th, 2015
What a wonderful photo!! I have no desire to have a ride on a camel but wish I had seen this view!! Fav!
January 9th, 2015
They make for a great shot though. Fantastic capture.

Love those silhouettes!
January 9th, 2015
Just because??? A wonderful view, I like the man walking ahead of the camels.
January 9th, 2015
A great image though :)

Beautiful silhouettes against the sea and sky, lovely image Terry:)
January 9th, 2015
Love the silhouettes
January 9th, 2015
Certainly an atypical, entertaining photo. I like the contrast between the mackerel sky, the smooth beach and the silhouetted camels.
January 9th, 2015
Nor I, but it makes a great shot with their silhouettes against the water.
January 9th, 2015
Love this photo, excellent silhouettes

Fav, so exotic
January 9th, 2015
Great shot. It looks like one camel that you've cut and pasted a number of times. Love the repetition.
January 9th, 2015
Wonderful shot poppo. Love the line of camels, but might be a stronger shot if some of the sky was cropped out to put the camel train higher up in the picture. Just my opinion, love it anyway!
January 9th, 2015
Really like this! Fav
January 9th, 2015
Woah. Unreal!
January 9th, 2015
@shepherdmanswife And your opinion certainly counts Chantal. And to demonstrate how little I know about it all, I played around with cropping the beach off the bottom but in the end decided to leave it SOOC.
January 9th, 2015
@terryliv I'm glad you didn't take the beach out. You would have lost the depth in the photo. Looks great as it is:)
January 9th, 2015
LOVE!!!
January 9th, 2015
Fabulous shot Poppy! Just an amazing scene. Fave.
January 9th, 2015
There's a slow slow train coming up around the bend :) Thanks to Bob Dylan!!
January 9th, 2015
@gilbertwood I think you are drawing a long bow there Denise. BTW I saw John Graham's shot of the old guitar and immediately thought of JD but then saw you had beaten me to it. So I did what every grown man would do. Sulked.
January 9th, 2015
He he! And now it really isn't interesting to see a grown man cry :)
January 9th, 2015
Fabulous shot. I love camels and I have lived close to a beach where they have camel rides for 17 years and I finally went for a ride on one with my grandson a few months ago.
January 9th, 2015
I have eaten one and ridden one, and riding was the better option! It is fun to get up and down an a camel. Lovely shot of them all in a row.
January 10th, 2015
Wonderful capture. Fav

What a great perspective! I guess I agree about the attraction, but I guess you're safe should the tide come in unexpectedly.
January 10th, 2015
I wonder if they realize the rider on the last camel has apparently fallen off and been left behind. :) I've not ridden a camel and wouldn't mind being able to say I had. I almost rode a llama once but that's only because I was trying my best not to let him get away from me; his halter had come off and I had my arms around his neck as he pranced and side-stepped all over the place.

Actually Terry, I have done this along Cable Beach. Highly over-rated. I was 30 weeks pregnant at the time and had a toddler with me and the scummy bloke put us all in one saddle. So squishy and tight fisted of him! My toddler wanted to know why the men and women on the beach had forgotten to put their bathers on *-* how to tell toddler about nudist beaches whilst riding a camel?
Makes for a gorgeous photo opportunity though. Well done Terry.

I don't know about riding them - but they sure made a super shot on the edge of the water against the wonderful clouds.
