Day 6 - Gibb River Road Landscape by terryliv

Day 6 - Gibb River Road Landscape

Thought I would give you a glimpse of the type of country we had been travelling through. This is fairly typical of what it was like since we got onto the Gibb River Road with the exception of a number of rocky hills and outcrops from time to time. Taken on the move through the window of the bus/truck.
Also just to give you an idea of distances, by this time we had covered about 1300kms since we left Broome.

It is an amazing landscape, and that is a long way to travel. I hope you didn't end up in Wolf creek :)

What kind of trees are these? I'm trying to figure out if they are wild or in an orchard. The red ground reminds me of some of our local areas.

@cejaanderson They are Eucalypts Jane, the dominant tree species in Oz. Despite their relatively modest size, these trees are mature ones and would be many tens of years old. And the conditions are far to harsh for any form of agriculture at all in the Kimberley with the exception of Kununurra which is well to the east and we will get to later. @cejaanderson
