Born a Bee by thedarkroom

Born a Bee

Some mornings (or afternoons) you just need to dance while trying not to spill your coffee from the mug that reminds you who you are. In my twenties I'd changed my name to one that seemed a lot stronger and more interesting than the one I was given by my parents. As time goes by with life doing what life does, creating those whirlwinds to see if you'll bend or break, it doesn't seem to be such a bad thing to be named after a mountain nymph that hid a baby Zeus and fed him honey so he would survive. (Not so fond of the part where Cronus turned her to an earthworm though.)

My mom will still just say I'm her busy bee.

Great backstory to your shot today.

great focus on the mug, which adds blur to the dancing - fantastic back story to the image

Very nice high key with wonderful focus and DoF!
Quirky and fun narrative that tells us a bit about you, just as this photo does.

@kali66 @elatedpixie @farmreporter @ira @jacqbb @grammyn Thank you so much!

@craigwantsnack Yeah.... gotta switch it up sometimes. :-P

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you! I just make what I want to put in focus is in the center of the shutter on the lens with a single point focus setting so it doesn't try to move the focus. If it's not in the center it will either just focus on something else, or you'll see it having problems catching the focus (so the motor will keep trying to find the focus and you can hear it and see the the focus ring move). When I do these, I use the single point focus and put it in the center because it's just easier to find where you should be that way. Other than that, it's just crossing your fingers and taking quite a few shots while listening to some good music. ;)
