Unusual instrument

I was given this by a lady from Angola, I have no idea what it is! There are strings running the length of it. Any ideas? Posted by @365anne for this weeks "Music" theme

I did a little research and it may be this The berimbau or hungo, is a string instrument originating in Angola and traditional from Bahia. This instrument was taken by Angolan slaves to Brazil

It looks quite a bit like a Senegalese Kora, though with fewer strings. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kora_(instrument) (That undergrad World Music course finally pays off!)
