The story. My mom, on the left, sold the house we grew up in and moved out of town closer to my brother in an independent living community in an apartment. She's been there a year and has had a couple occasions to return "home" to visit friends. She has become a little less comfortable driving that long distance so has not been back in several months. She does keep in touch by phone. Today she and I drove "home" (an early morning departure for both of us). She had "a plan" and a schedule. I was the driver! We met friends at Cracker Barrel, then to the cemetery to refresh the flowers on Daddy's grave. Then to visit other friends (those photos to follow). Christmas makes a great time to visit. Folks are in the mood to visit and everyone was glad to see her (and me! :- ). Her plan was accomplished (well, all but one visit, but that is another story entirely!!). We got to spend lots of time together (including 4 and a half hours in the ER..."that's the other story!") and enjoyed being together!
This photo is a very special friend for as long as we lived in the home she sold. Love the affection they have for each other.
