Honeysuckle... by thewatersphotos

Honeysuckle...

At least that is what we have always called it. It is late to be blooming, but our hot weather has been holding on much to long.
A luscious yellow color!

@365karly1 Thanks, Karly. They are beautiful, but can be a pesky, invasive vine. Anything like that where you live?

The weather has been so crazy. It's going to freeze the blooms on the rhododendron here tonight. This is a lovely shot of those lucious and sweet smelling blooms.

Noticed this blooming here, too, this past week - not much, but in several spots. Nice focus on the honeysuckle.

Looks like a species of Lonicera, http://phytoimages.siu.edu/taxpage/0/0/79/genus/Lonicera.html
some of which *are* terribly invasive!
Indeed, yours looks suspiciously like the nasty Lonicera japonica, http://phytoimages.siu.edu/taxpage/0/0/79/binomial/Lonicera%20japonica.html

@randystreat We have not yet had freezing temps, but now the rain has begun and the temps are decreasing. Good to see fall on the horizon.

@rhoing Thanks, Thom. I appreciate your research. Fortunately it sprung up in the burn pile, so soon it will be no more.
