Since 1917... by thewatersphotos

Since 1917...

This building is in the next block up from the tracks on the north side of downtown. I can make out MOTOR CO. but it seems something else has been stenciled over/under that. I do see "Since 1917" which gives the building a date. Now it is used as a warehouse, I think.
Great find and shot

Nice shot, Gary!
I can make out "TION CO." at the end. "Construction" maybe? And it looks like the Motor Co. name ended in N. Much detective work remains! ;)

Intriguing building! Perfectly imperfect wabi-sabi. :-)

Love this... looks really old and it must be... unless it was painted for a movie set.

How great that it hasn't been painted over. I love these old signs left on buildings. Great find.

@kvphoto Thanks! Interesting you say that...there was a movie filmed here many years ago, but they used a different part of town.

@thewatersphotos Old buildings? Not where I live. I rarely sell anything older than the 70's. My son bought a house built in 1925 and that was such a different experience. It's not in this area and he had a local Realtor, but I had to go to the inspection because I knew there would be issues and I wanted to hear it directly from the inspector!

@danette I hope the house turned out okay.
