Green ferns... by thewatersphotos

Green ferns...

The nature preserve had a small plot of ferns next to a small bridge. I wanted to use a shallow depth of field to blur the plot in the background.
Well done

The selective focus on that bit of fern is beautifully done.

Very nicely placed central focus and your goal of shallow depth of field was achieved.

Beautiful!! Is the pink in the background a flower?

My frustration with my 60mm lens was exactly the shallow depth of field on close-ups when I wanted *more* DOF. I took a tripod to the greenhouse a couple times to slow the shutter and increase the f-stop. It was effective, but a lot of time-and-effort to use a tripod. You certainly got your shallow DOF! Good job.

At f/2.5 you certainly get some background blur.
