There are also leaves that turn a brilliant dark red. These don't seem to be as transparent as the yellow ones. I did manage to catch the sunlight on these.
This is so lovely. I like the deep tones with a touch of orange. My husband really liked Japanese Maples. He put one in a pot in the garden at the old house. I'd love to bring it to the new house in his memory, but I guess it's probably grown past the moving state long ago.
