Moving the cotton for processing...

The Cotton Picker, on the right, dumps the load of cotton into a container for holding, while the picker returns to the field to pick more. The cotton will be moved from this container into the yellow baler on the far left. There the cotton will be compressed into large bales for transporting to the gin for further processing.
Fascinated to see this

I’ve never seen the three pieces of equipment lined up like this… seen the picker and the container but not the baler.

A fabulous shot of the workings of cotton picking. I wonder how much fiber would be made by one load of cotton.

That is pretty high tech.

@casablanca I am so glad you are enjoying this series! I grew up seeing cotton growing and took it for granted! Now that the number of fields are declining, I wanted to share what I am so accustomed to seeing!

Wow! I studied textile engineering (about 30 years ago) and learnt a lot about cotton, but never had to had a change to see something like this yet.
