Well, not exactly a "box", more like a bowl. This China dish music box belonged to my mother-in-law and was handed down to my wife. It is from the late 1930's. The mechanism is broken and so there is no music. I opened the top to show that there is only a shallow "dish". The painting on the music box is exquisite!!
Lovely. I don't think they sell music "boxes" like they once did. I guess younger people don't like 'doodads' hanging about. This is a lovely porcelain music box. From the cracking under the glaze I can tell it has some age on it.
