In this location they have made a "man made creek" to direct the water so that erosion is minimized.

I didn't realize that build these rock creeks (often called dry creeks in landscaping) for a purpose other than a nice effect in a yard.

@randystreat It is the first time I have seen it done, also! This one is very long and winding! It does work, but there is so much water during wet seasons that it overflows the bank. They are working on solving that problem.
