Baling the hay today...

I've seen it many times, but seeing the baler stop, back up and unload a bale never gets old!
So far they have carried off 60 bales and they are not half finished!

Must be a good year for hay. I love those round bales. I still see the rectangle ones though, especially on trucks.

I've heard that those round bales can cost $500-1000

I’d imagine that baler must be pretty loud… wonder if the driver judges that everything is working right by the sounds of the baling?

Lovely fluffy hay….always good to get it baked up & in the barn! Round bales save lots of tired arms.

This farmer doesn't have an air conditioned cab on his tractor. This would certainly be hot and dry work!

@k9photo I'm sure they would LOVE to get that much. Most bales around here go for $70 - $100 per bale, depending on the quality and the type of grass.

@kvphoto It is very loud, indeed, KV! They do learn to listen for any trouble, but there are also buzzers that sound when the bale is ready to be emptied.
