I am not good at identification of flying insects.
Our "flying insects" have become prolific and with that the variety has increased, also. This one was unique and posed for a long time...until I got too close.
Any ideas what it might be?
Can't really see clearly enough but the Library of Congress states: One of the easiest ways to tell the difference between a butterfly and a moth is to look at the antennae. A butterfly’s antennae are club-shaped with a long shaft and a bulb at the end. A moth’s antennae are feathery or saw-edged. The insect has an interesting pattern on its wings.
I would guess a butterfly, something in the skipper family, but I'm by no means an expert. I have an app to help ID these things, I can see what it suggests if you'd like!
