Garden Bonfire by thistle01

Garden Bonfire

Now banned in so many places but luckily not here. The smell of wood burning bonfires brings back many memories of my childhood.
Hubby who gave up smoking some 35 years ago says standing over a bonfire and breathing in was nearly as good as a cigarette!! He would quite happily do it now!!
Well caught!

I love the smell of a good bonfire too....it’s the smell of autumn! We have had that smell every evening fir the last few nights as one of our neighbours who has a couple of horses is burning some hay that they are leaving in the rack.. it’s not such a good crop so they are eating the best of it...the smell is lovely though.

S'mores! That's what I think of when I see a fire like this. Definitely an Autumn staple!

We aren't allowed to have bonfires here because of the risk of bushfires, but it does look good in a photo.

Small fires do smell good for sure. ...sadly, there are too many big ones here still burning out of control.

Looks like it is wet grass or sticks that are burning from all the smoke that is coming out of the fire. You took a lovely shot to show the fire. Well done.

@craftymeg Love your comment. I actually enjoy the smell of the smoke and don't mind at all that my clothes smell of smoke for ages!

Nice shot of something we don't see very often now.
