@maggiemae It's 3.5 miles / 5.6km from our house to the end of the nearest runway. But if the noise brought me out I'd never get inside! There are 17 squadrons based at Oceana and they train constantly. You get used to it real quick. The Navy does, however, have a good neighbor policy and won't fly in/out from 2300 to 0700 unless absolutely necessary.
