My Get Pushed Challenge for this week was to shoot my favorite (or more accurately, favourite) seasonal view. Right now, that would be Christmas lights.
The Illuminate Light Show (ILS) is a drive-through holiday light show in central Virginia at Meadow Event Park* in Doswell, right next to King's Dominion Amusement Park. The lights flicker and dance to synchronized music that plays over a low-power FM transmitter you listen to in your car as you wend your way through the exhibit.
This shot shows only a small fraction of the show. I am off the hill I was on for Illuminate Light Show I and shooting through the Park's perimeter fence. The small red lights at the bottom of the picture are markers that guide the cars through the displays.
*Meadow Event Park is where the Virginia State Fair is held. It was originally called Meadow Farm. It is where Secretariat, one of the greatest race horses ever, was born, raised and trained. He won the Triple Crown in 1973, winning the Belmont Stakes by a mind-boggling 31 lengths.
