As I walked onto an overlook at Dutch Gap Conservation Area, I flushed a male wood duck that had been perched below the deck where I couldn't see it. Despite my camera not being set for the light and the duck's airborne speed, I still managed to get one good shot of it just before it landed in the marsh a few yards away.
