Besides our yard being a haven for skinks, we also have swarms of dragonflies and damselflies, and, as I found out this morning, at least one tiny praying mantis in the mulch under our plum tree.
His* head isn't well-focused because he wouldn't stop moving it. I'm surprised this came out as good as it did, especially since it was a cell phone shot.
*I'm presuming this is a male (but I could be wrong). Female mantises are larger and have different body proportions.
