Pretty in pink? by tinley23

Pretty in pink?

This little gang certainly drew a crowd when we were out shopping. Lots of people were coming up with ideas eg pigeon-parrot cross, foreign bird lost on route to somewhere else, escaped exotic bird, etc. A quick google provided the sadder answer - someone had been dying them pink, supposedly to deter falcons. Another train of thought was that they are being dyed for use in weddings and other ceremonies. It didn’t seem to be doing it any harm, but I really can’t believe it is doing them any favours either. What do you think?
Well spotted pinkgeon! I think it's cruel Lesley

Who needs a selective colour feature when you have a pink pigeon. I think it should be left as nature intended.

Wrong. Leave them as beautiful as they are.

I thought you'd been out with the selective colouring tool on PS! Pink Pigeon seems to be circled by the others, checking it out!

Maybe it is a flamingo pigeon... who could tell what it ate.
Pigeons are annoying, but there's no need to do that to them. I mean: weddings are equally annoying, but we don't spray bride and groom in pink... We, as a race, are twisted.

But i love that white furniture

Leave them as nature intended….should be prosecuted, it will make it easier for a bigger bird to prey on it.

You have the best titles… so perfect for this shot.

Poor pink pigeon - I can imagine the other pigeons being mean to him/her :(

Certainly something I’ve never seen before! Can’t help thinking that there has to have been some human involvement! Not something I would advocate!

This is not something that should be happening, just leave the poor things as nature intended them to be

Stand out in the herd to a bad idea. Nice find and lovely shot.

Definitely a unique find, but I agree with many others here: don't tamper with nature. I can't believe this is good.
