Triptych Postcard by toinette

Triptych Postcard

Helen @helenhall challenged me this week for Get Pushed: "Can you take a single image that can be divided (into 3) and displayed as a triptych. Do you have editing software that will enable you to do this?"
I tried it with my "postcard" photo on black and with very little space (2 pixel) between the three parts.
@helenhall attempt 2! I think this challenge will keep me busy the whole weekend. :)

I might have missed attempt 1 - I will go back and look for it. I'm no expert, but here is what I think you should do with this one to improve it further - crop a bit off the right of the photo, then when you divide the scene into three, the boat will be complete in the middle section. Hopefully, the flag will also be complete on the right portion of the image. Did you try a wider border between the parts? I would like to see this with a border at least as thick as the top and bottom of the frame. Ideally if you can
- don't just add the border in over the top of the image, but separate the parts of the image with the border in between so that we don't loose any of the picture. Just my thoughts - so feel free to ignore. 😊

@helenhall
Oh - I think I know what you mean! Each third of the image should be a nice stand alone shot but also be an important part of the whole.
@toinette
This is a lovely shot with lots of detail in the sky and beautiful tones and texture in the photo itself.

@helenhall @farmreporter thanks to you two for the advice! You are totally right, now that you say it, I see how it's disturbing the image. Thanks, Helen, for the practical advice how to fix it!!
