In the Long Shadows of Dusk

A state park on Madeline Is. the deer were feeding as dusk and the long shadows of approaching night darkened the snow.
They were unconcerned with our presence; food was their concern for it takes a lot of twigs to provide enough sustenance for survival. We were both shooting in monochrome at various settings and comparing the dynamic range of his full frame 6d with my cropped sensor 7d. Wanted the snow bright but with detailed maintained

I saw your most recent on the latest page. Then saw this one on your calendar view. So many deer pics are with the deer, taut, and about to bolt, staring at the camera. I love this peek into their world, where she is unaware. I love her stance, and how deep she is in that snow. And the light/shadow. Great pic. A fav!
